It takes a few minutes for
your router to assign an IP
address to your computer.
When your computer is con-
nected, the message shown
here appears over the LAN
icon in the System Tray.
3. Double-click the LAN icon to view details for your con-
nection.
Connecting a Wireless LAN (WLAN)
Note: For further
information on set-
ting up a local area
network, or if you
have problems, con-
sult Windows online
help or contact your
network administra-
tor.
Use your computer’s built-in wireless LAN module to
access your home or office network. The wireless LAN
module is powered by the Intel® PROSet/Wireless utility.
To connect to a wireless network:
1. Press Fn + F9. to activate the wireless LAN module.
The wireless module automatically scans for available
networks.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to access a network.
(Click Help in the Intel® PROSet/Wireless utility for
assistance.)
