Placing the Date in a Message E1
You must be in the edit mode to place a date in a message or change the format of the date. See
Instruction A2, “Creating a Text Message” to enter the edit mode.
1 While editing, position the cursor
where you want a date to appear.
2 Press DATE. The LCD will show the
date enclosed by braces. The
braces appear only on-screen, not in
the printed message.
3 Position the cursor under the initial
brace of the message date. The first
line of the LCD will now show the
format of the message date in an
abbreviated form.
4 To change the date format,
use the UP and DOWN ARROWS.
The chart below shows all the available date formats on the I.V./700 with examples for July 4, 2001.
Date in Message Format Prompt Explanation
{07/04/01} MM/DD/YY Two digits each for the month / the day / the year.
{JUL} MON-ENGLISH Month in three letters abbreviated from English
{A} W/W Current week as two alphabets. Week 53 = *
{G} M Month in a single letter: Jan is A, Feb is B, and so on.
{27} WW Current week as two digits.
{185} DDD Day of the year in three digits.
{07} MM Month in two digits.
{04} DD Day of the month in two digits.
{JUL} MON Month in three letters abbreviated from selected language.
{01} YY Last two digits of the year.
{2001} YYYY Year in four digits.
{04/07/01} DD/MM/YY Two digits each for the day / the month / the year.
5 Press ENTER when done.
