BIOS Setup
Super IO Configuration
This section is used to congure the I/O functions supported by the onboard
Super I/O chip.
Parallel Port Address
Allows you to manually select an I/O address for the onboard serial port.
Parallel Port Mode
The options are Normal, EPP, ECP and ECP+EPP. These apply to a standard
specication and will depend on the type and speed of your device. Refer to
your peripheral’s manual for the best option.
Normal
Allows normal speed operation but in one direction only.
“ECP (Extended Capabilities Port)”
Allows parallel port to operate in bidirectional mode and at a speed faster
than the normal mode’s data transfer rate.
“EPP (Enhanced Parallel Port)”
Allows bidirectional parallel port operation at maximum speed.
If you selected EPP, the “EPP Mode Select” eld is congurable. If you se-
lected ECP, the “ECP Mode Use DMA eld is congurable. If you selected
ECP+EPP, both “EPP Mode Select” and “ECP Mode Use DMAare congurable.
Parallel Port IRQ
Select an IRQ for the parallel port.
