13.6.1 EARLY SENSOR SHUT-OFF SENSOR
FAILURE
The receiver may detect issues with the sensor
where it cannot determine the sensor glucose
reading. The sensor session ends and the
receiver shows the “Sensor Failed” screen. If
you see this screen, it means the CGM session
has ended. Press the SELECT button to clear
this screen.
Contact your healthcare professional. You may
need to remove the sensor yourself or your healthcare professional
might help you remove it and insert a new sensor, if appropriate.
To help improve future sensor performance:
•Makesurethesensorisnotexpired.
•Makesurethetransmitterissnappedin.
•Makesurethesensorpodisnotdislodgedorpeelingup.
•Makesurenothingisrubbingthesensorpod(i.e.clothing,seatbelts,
etc.).
•Makesureyouhaveselectedagoodinsertionsite(seeChapter6,
Section 6.3, Choosing an Insertion Site).
•Makesuretheinsertionsiteiscleananddrypriortosensorinsertion.
13.6.2 MANUAL SENSOR SHUT-OFF – “STOP
SENSOR”
There may be times that the user or healthcare professional will want
to stop the sensor session before the end of the seven days. Some of
these times may include removing the sensor early due to:
•Calibrationissuesthatcannotberesolved
• symbol that does not resolve
•Sensoradhesionissues
