WLAN configuration off
If you would like, you can completely shut off the Wi-Fi
part of your dLAN pro 500 Wireless+, e.g. if you want
to operate it exclusively as a simple dLAN device via the
built-in Ethernet connections. To do so, under WLAN
configuration select the Off mode and confirm your
entry with Save WLAN mode or simply press the Wi-
Fi ON/OFF button on the housing. The operating state
of the device is displayed under 4.3 Status over-
view.
Keep in mind that after saving this
setting, you will be disconnected
from any existing wireless connec-
tion to the
dLAN pro 500 Wireless+. In this
case, configure the device via
Ethernet or dLAN.
WLAN configuration as access point
If you would like the dLAN pro 500 Wireless+ to act as
an access point, select Access point mode under
WLAN configuration and confirm your entry with
Save WLAN mode or simply press the Wi-Fi ON/OFF
button on the housing. The dLAN pro 500 Wireless+
automatically changes to Access point mode. The op-
erating state of the device is displayed under 4.3 Sta-
tus overview.
WLAN configuration as client
If you would like the dLAN pro 500 Wireless+ to act as
client, select WLAN client mode under WLAN con-
figuration and confirm your entry with Save WLAN
mode. The operating state of the device is displayed
under 4.3 Status overview.
If you select WLAN client mode, WiFi
Move Technology is automatically
disabled (also see 4.5.5 WiFi Move
Technology).
4.5.1 Basic settings
In the WLAN settings, you can set the frequency
band, time control, radius server and the parental set-
tings, regardless of whether the
dLAN pro 500 Wireless+ is set as an Access point or
WLAN client. The settings apply to both modes.
