7.5 VLAN scenarios
Different applications can logically and securely be separated from each other
within a dLAN by using VLANs. If multiple organisation areas use the same
dLAN, the network setup can ensure that each organisation area only has access
to its own VLAN by configuring VLANs and assigning these VLAN to the different
organisation areas.
Scenario A:
"Building with rented offices using interconnected infrastructure" application
The following basic conditions apply to this scenario:
 Multiple companies are sharing the same infrastructure in a building (see
Fig. 42)
 All of the companies are renters
 After expansion, the Schmitz Company has rented an additional office on
the ground floor
 The Schmitz Company uses a VLAN
 The Bergmann Company uses another VLAN
 The dLAN is connected using coax (dLAN 500 AVpro UNI)
 In addition, dLAN 500 AVpro triple+ and dLAN 200 AVpro Wireless N
devices are used in each of the companies
