devolo dLAN AVpro manager
5.2 Resetting the dLAN device to factory defaults
Using the dLAN AVpro manager, you can reset a locally connected dLAN device
to the factory settings. This can be necessary, for example, if the device can no
longer be reached due to a configuration error. There are two alternatives for
carrying out the device reset:
a) First, register the corresponding device with dLAN AVpro manager (see
Chap. 4.2.2). This causes the device to appear in the list of „Unused
devices“. Here, open a device's context menu by right-clicking on it and
select the option Reset device.
b) Open the Device menu and select the menu item Reset device. There, the
MAC address of the locally connected device is displayed, as long as it is not
yet displayed in the list of „Unused devices“. You can carry out a device reset
by selecting its MAC address.
If multiple dLAN devices can be reached locally from your computer running
dLAN AVpro manager (e.g. using an Ethernet switch), the MAC addresses of
these dLAN devices are listed in the Device menu under the menu item Reset
device
.
In the list, select the MAC address of the device you want to reset.
The reset process of a dLAN device can take some time. While the reset is in pro-
gress, dLAN AVpro manager sends a message indicating that a device reset is
being carried out.
