Profiles
devolo dLAN AVpro manager
34
is an advanced management scheme with which the impending reduction of
transfer bandwidth can be prevented.
A side-effect of multi-segment mode can be a slight reduction of the attenuation
budget, which can have adverse effects on the most distant slave's maximum
permitted distance.
3.3.1.2 Limit bandwidth
You can limit the bandwidth of dLAN devices depending on the profile assigned
to them as needed in order to enable a uniform transmission quality of content
to all dLAN devices. For this purpose, you can limit the data rates in data re-
ceived by a dLAN AVpro (downstream) and data sent (upstream) separately.
You can set the values for the downstream and the upstream bandwidth sepa-
rately. You can do so using either the arrow key at the right of the input field or
the direct entry of the numerical value. Values between 64 and 16,384 kbps are
allowed, in increments of 64 kbps. dLAN AVpro manager automatically rounds
the numerical values entered.
They disable the bandwidth limitation by entering the value '0'. This value is the
default value.
