A repeater, consisting of two adapters, can be set up so that both circuit types
– power circuit and coaxial circuit – can be used in a data network. To do this,
one dLAN
200 AVpro i adapter for transmitting data over the power circuit, and
one dLAN
200 AVpro i adapter for transmitting over the coaxial circuit are con-
nected directly via an Ethernet cable (see Figure Apartment 3).
4.2.1 Example of networking in a hotel
Internet access is becoming increasingly important even for hotel guests – par-
ticularly for those traveling on business who want to review their e-mail or dis-
tribute presentations in the evening. It has long been commonplace for hotels
to provide televisions in each room, so all the hotel rooms that are of concern
are generally equipped with coaxial connections already. By using the
dLAN
200 AVpro i devices, fast Internet connections can be offered as well as
television in all these rooms with very little effort.
