CAUSE

Wrong oil used.
Compressor and/orengine bolts

Excessive carbon deposits in head.
CORRECTION
Operate safety valve manually by
pullingon ring. If valve stillleaks, it
shouldbereplaced.
A defective check valve resultsin a
constant air leak, back through the
unloadervalvewhenthereis pressure
inthe air tank and the compressoris
notrunning.Turntheengineoff; move
the unloadervalvetogglelevertothe
verticalposition.Ifair leaksoutof the
tankthroughtheunloadervalve,clean
or replacethe checkvalve.(DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN).
Decrease amount ofair usage,
Remove and clean, orreplace.
Clean orreplaceair intakefilter.
Tightenfittings.
Checkand replace if required.
Repairor replace.
Tightenpulley set screw.
Check oil level and maintainat
prescribedlevel.
Remove and cleanor replace.
Followoil recommendationslisted
inthe "Gasoline Engine Owners
Manual".
Check all bolts and tightenas
required.
Removethe head andvalve plate.
Clean top ofpistonand bottom of
valveplate. Reassembleusingnew
gasket and torque screwsto
35 foot-pounds.
