SHUT DOWN PROCEDURES
To stopthe engine in an emergency, turn the engine
ON/OFF lever or key switchto the OFF position.Un-
der normalconditions,use the following procedures.
1. Allow the tank pressure to buildto maximum
and the engine to throttledownto idlespeed.

Turn the engine lever or key switchto theOFF
position.
Closetheairdischargevalve.
Remove airtool oraccessory.
Open outlet valve or regulator to allow air to
slowly bleedfrom the tank. Close the outlet
valveor regulator when thetank pressure is
approximately20 psig.
6. Drainwater from tank.
MAINTENANCE
Toensure efficientoperationand longer life of the air
compressor outfita routine maintenance schedule
shouldbe prepared and followed. The followingrou-
tine maintenance scheduleis geared to an outfitina
normalworkingenvironment operatingona dailyba-
sis.If necessary, the scheduleshould be modifiedto
suitthe conditionsfound withyour compressoroutfit.
The modificationswilldepend upon the hoursofop-
eration and the working environment. Compressor
outfitsinanextremelydirtyand/orhostileenvironment
will require a greater frequency of all maintenance
checks. The maintenance label mounted on the air
tankalso liststhe required maintenance checks.
Foradditionalmaintenanceinstructions,recommended
oilandfuel onthe gasoline engine,refer to "Gasoline
Engine OwnersManual".
NOTE
Drain and refill the compressor pump
crankcase after the first 100 hours of
operation. Add approximately 60 oz..
to pump.
Drain and refill the gasoline engine crankcase
afterthefirst20 hoursofoperation. See "Gasoline
Engine Owners Manual" forenginecrankcase
capacity.
2. Drain water from the air tank and any
moisture separatorsortrensformers.
3. Check foranyunusual noiseand/or vibration.
4. Manually checkthe safety valveto make sure
it isoperatingproperly.

1. Check thegasoline engine and aircompressor
pumpoil levels; add if necessary.
