Appraisal
- Red lines in the white film indicate cracks.
- Red dots indicate pittings or porosity.
Hair cracks may need some hours to become visible.
A red dotted line is caused by:
● hair cracks,
● metal fatigue marks,
● non-continuous cracks.
Trichlorethylene is toxic. Ensure adequate ventilation of the workshop. Do not inhale
vapours. Wear protective clothing (such as goggles, gloves) when working with trichlorethy-
lene.
