12.8.3 Starting up the vehicle after a temporary lay-up or after lay-
up over winter
Go through the following checklist before start-up:
Water system
Clean the water system using a cleaning agent from a specialised
store
Complete vehicle
Clean the awning area and store in a dry place
Arrange the tarpaulins in such a way that the ventilation openings
are not covered, or use porous tarpaulins

Chassis
Check the tyre pressure on all tyres
Check the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
Body
Check the functioning of the fitted corner steadies
Check that the doors, windows and skylights are working properly
Check the function of all external locks
Remove the cover from the waste gas vent of the heater (if there is
one)
Remove the winter cover from the refrigerator grills (if there is one)
Gas system
Put the gas bottles in the gas bottle compartment, tie down and con-
nect to the gas pressure regulator
Electrical system
Connect to 240 V power supply using the external socket
Fully charge living area battery
Charge the battery for at least 20 hours after lay-up.
Check that the electrical system are working, e.g. interior light, sock-
et and all installed electrical appliances
Water system
Use several litres of fresh water to rinse out water pipes and water
tank. To this end, open all water taps
Close all drain cocks and water taps
Check the water taps, drain cocks and water distributors for leaks
Appliances
Check the function of the refrigerator
Change heating fluid of the hot-water heater every 2 years
Check the function of the heater/boiler
Check the function of the gas cooker
Check the function of the air conditioning unit
Check the function of the oven
