TROUBLESHOOTING, CONT.
Symptom
Probable Cause
Action
The printer is printing
unrecognizable characters.
The power supply is
excessively noisy.
Contact Cardinal Tech Support or a qualified
dealer.
The printing on the ticket is
faint or hard to read.
The printer’s ink ribbon may
need to be replaced.
Replace ribbon.
The printer head may be
damaged.
Requires service by a qualified technician.
Scale will not ZERO.
Weight on scale larger than
the allowable ZERO
amount.
Clean the scale deck of debris, and then Zero
the scale.
Air Compressor runs
continuously and airflow is
lower than normal.
Loose connections.
Check all connections with soap and water
solution. Tighten loose connections.
Clogged air filter element.
Replace air filter element.
Contact Cardinal Tech Support or a qualified
dealer.
Unable to remove the
safety pins
The safety pins may be in a
bind.
Inflate the air bags to raise the scale to
relieve the bind and remove the safety pins
Air Bags will not stay
inflated
Check for air leaks and that
all valves are closed.
The dump valve (located on the battery box)
and the air bag valves (located above each
air bag) must be closed.
Air Compressor does not
run
Check fuse for compressor.
Check the air relay
Replace fuse (refer to scale wiring diagram).
Contact Cardinal Tech Support or a qualified
dealer.
Air Bags will not inflate
Check for air leaks and that
all valves are in the correct
positions.
Make sure the dump valve (located on the
battery box) is closed and the air bag valves
(located above each air bag) are open.
