Your DX-WBRDVD1 represents the state of the art in Blu-ray Disc player design and is designed for reliable and trouble-free performance. Features • Full high-definition video playback at up to 1080p resolution for an amazing viewing experience. • Upconversion of standard definition DVDs for enhanced picture quality at up to 1080p over an HDMI connection.
Features DX-WBRDVD1 Front 3 Remote control DX-WBRDVD1 # Item Description 1 Disc tray Insert a disc with the label side up into this tray. To open or close the tray, press (open/close). 2 Remote control sensor Receives signals from the remote control. Do not block. 3 (open/close) 4 (play/pause) 5 USB port 6 (standby/on) Press to open or close the disc tray. Press to start or pause playback. Plug a USB flash drive into this port.

During DVD playback, press to open the DVD menu (if available). For more information, see “Using a disc popup menu” on page 9. 27 RETURN Press to return to the previous menu. Press to repeat the current title, chapter, track, or repeat all.
Setting up your player DX-WBRDVD1 Connecting a TV using an HDMI cable (best) Connecting to your home network Note: This player can be connected to your wired network using the Ethernet port on the back of your player or by using a wireless network. To connect a TV using an HDMI cable: • Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI jack on the back of your player and to the HDMI IN jack on the TV.

Does the user have to press ENTER to access the Network Setup screen?) 6 Press or to select the wireless network you want your player to connect to, then press ENTER. A Network Setup screen opens with the following options: • Connect—Connect to this network. • Disconnect—Disconnect from this network. • Delete—Delete the current network. • Edit—To edit the network name, password, and so on.
Using your player Controlling Blu-ray Disc or DVD playback Note: If appears on the screen, the current action is not permitted by the disc or your player. For example, many discs do not let you fast-forward through the warning information at the beginning of the disc. To control Blu-ray Disc or DVD playback: • Press (play/pause) to start or pause playback. The sound is muted when your player is in pause mode. To resume normal playback, press (play/pause).

Using your player Playing files on a data disc or USB memory stick When you insert a data disc or USB memory stick containing picture, music, or video files into your player, icons are added to the menu to indicate that video, music, or picture files are available for playback.
Using the Settings menu Playing an audio CD To play an audio CD: 1 Press . 2 Press to open the disc tray. 3 Place a CD on the disc tray with the label facing up, then press to close the disc tray. It may take a few seconds for the CD to load. 4 To eject the CD, press . Controlling audio CD playback DX-WBRDVD1 9 Using PIP (Picture In Picture) mode Some Blu-ray Discs are compatible with Picture In Picture (PIP) mode.

Changing the Language settings Selecting the on-screen menu language - Some discs do not let you select the audio language using your player’s menu. Instead, you have to select the audio language from the disc setup menu (the menu that appears after you insert the disc). 5 Press to go to the previous menu.
Using the Settings menu DX-WBRDVD1 Selecting the video output resolution To select the video output resolution: 1 Press ENTER. The Settings menu opens. System 11 3 Press or to select TV Aspect, then press ENTER. 4 Press or to select the aspect ratio you want, then press ENTER. You can select 16:9 Pillarbox, 4:3 Pan & Scan, 4:3 Letter Box, or 16:9 wide.

If Deep Color is set to Auto, and the player is connected to TV via HDMI cable, the player first tries to set the color depth to 36 bits, if the 36 bits is not supported by the TV, it tries to set the color depth to 30 bits, if the 30 bits is not supported by the TV, the player sets the color depth to 24 bits. If Deep Color is set to Off, the player sets the color depth to 24 bits. 5 Press to go to the previous menu.

The Audio menu opens. 3 Press or to select Stereo Downmix, then press ENTER. 4 Press or one or more times to select the stereo downmix mode you want, you can select Auto, Stereo (LoRo), or Surround Encoded (LtRt). Changing the Parental Control settings Setting the parental control password To input the parental control password: 1 Press ENTER. The Settings menu opens. 13 2 Press or to select Parental. 3 Press ENTER.
14 DX-WBRDVD1 Using the Settings menu 4 Press or to On or Off. When On is selected and you insert a Blu-ray Disc, playback begins automatically. When Off is selected, playback does not begin automatically. Select the disc from the Settings menu to begin playing it. 5 Press to go to the previous menu. Setting the screen saver activation time Your player has a screen saver feature that turns the screen black when your player is inactive.

You can select: • Limit Access—Allows Internet access with valid “BD-Live” network access approval. • Always Allow Access—Always allows BD-Live Internet access. • Prohibit Access—Never allows BD-Live Internet access. 5 Press to go to the previous menu. Viewing available BD-Live storage space 3 Press or to select Wired, then press ENTER. The IP Settings screen opens.

A Network Setup screen opens with the following options: • Connect—Connect to this network. • Disconnect—Disconnect from this network. • Delete—Delete the current network. • WPS Pin—Create a random PIN number password. 6 If your network does not use encryption, press or to select Connect, then press ENTER.

18 DX-WBRDVD1 • In an area with a temperature over 104°F (40°C) or humidity over 90% • Dirty places • In an area with direct exposure to sunlight • Do not install this equipment in a confined space such as a book case or similar unit. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, table-cloths, or curtains. • Make sure that you leave a minimum of 4 inches (10 cm) around your player for sufficient ventilation.
Troubleshooting DX-WBRDVD1 Power Problem Problem Solution No power Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a power outlet and that the outlet is supplying power. The player switches to standby mode After a period of inactivity, your player switches to standby mode automatically. This is a power saving feature. If your player switches to standby mode unexpectedly, a safety device may have been activated. Press STANDBY/ON on the front of your player.
20 DX-WBRDVD1 Problem Troubleshooting Solution There is no apparent change in the picture quality when the picture settings are changed in the Setup menu • Depending on the video type, changes may not be apparent. When playing a BD-Live disc, the screen is black • Erase BD Storage. See “Erasing BD-Live storage” on page 15. • Make sure that your Internet connection is working. • Make sure that the Internet cable is connected securely and correctly to your player and the Internet jack.
