1. STOP! Read the safety information in
column 1.
2. Make sure equipment shutoff valve is fully
open.
3. Set selector switch in OFF position.

6. Press in and turn control knob counter-
clockwise to the PILOT position.

Note:Youmayberunningthisheaterfor
thersttimeafterhookinguptogassup-
ply.Ifso,thecontrolknobmayneedtobe
pressed in for 30 seconds or more. This will
allowairtobleedfromthegassystem.

•Immediatelycallyourgassupplierfrom
a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas
supplier’sinstructions.
•Ifyoucannotreachyourgassupplier,call
theredepartment.
C. Useonlyyourhandtopushinorturnthe
gas control knob. Never use tools. If the
knobwillnotpushinorturnbyhand,don’t
trytorepairit,callaqualiedservicetech-
nicianorgassupplier.Forceorattempted
repairmayresultinareorexplosion.
D. Donot usethisapplianceif anyparthas
been under water. Immediately call a
qualiedservicetechniciantoinspectthe
appliance and to replace any part of the
controlsystemandanygascontrolwhich
has been under water.
