Setting the WEP keys
(Authentication: Open)
(40-bit WEP)
Tapping the WEP tab on the NIC Control menu displays any of the
following three types of screens according to the authentication type.
- At left: Open
- Below at left: Shared key (40-bit WEP)
- On the next page: Shared key (128-bit WEP)
You can set the following:
WEP: Set the authentication system when the WEP is enabled.
Open: Disable the encryption.
Shared (40-bit): Use a 40-bit WEP key.
Shared (128-bit): Use a 128-bit WEP key.
Key 1 through 4: Define four types of encryption keys--WEP keys
1 to 4. (available only when the Shared (40-bit)
or Shared (128-bit) is selected)
Transmit Key: Activate any one of the WEP keys 1 through 4
already defined. (available only when the Shared
(40-bit) or Shared (128-bit) is selected)
For details about each parameter, refer to Chapter 3, Section 3.1.2,
"RF-Related Parameters."
To enable the encryption with an WEP key, choose "Shared" in the
WEP box.
For Transmit Key, select an WEP key already defined.
