ENGLISH Getting Started Auto Setup Connections MASTER VOLUME ui Setup • Audyssey MultEQ® automatically measures the acoustical problems in the listening environment to create the best audio experience for your home theater. • Audyssey MultEQ® optimizes a large listening area where one or more listeners are seated. Measurements are performed by placing the calibrated microphone (DM-A405) successively at multiple positions throughout the listening area as shown in example q.

ENGLISH Getting Started Punch Through Function [Front] “Punch Through” is a function allowing you to operate 1, 2, 3, 0, 6, 7, 8 and 9 on CD, iPod/NETWORK, TAPE/CD-R/ MD, DVD/VDP or VCR components when in the SAT/CABLE or TV mode. By default, nothing is set. Set [MODE SELECTOR 2] to the component to be registered (SAT/CABLE or TV). Press [MEMORY] and [RETURN] at the same time. The indicator starts flashing. Input the number of the component you want to set.
ENGLISH Getting Started Amp Assign Connections The AVR-1708 is compatible with the following types of playback: • 7.1-channel playback • Bi-amp playback (front speakers) NOTE • For bi-amp playback, use speakers compatible with that type of connection. • When conducting bi-amp playback, remove the short-circuiting boards (or wires) from the speaker terminals.

Non-compressed digital video and multi-channel audio signals are transmitted with a single connection. Are the connections correct? 2. Is the set being operated as described in the owner’s manual? 3. Are the other components operating properly? If this unit does not operate properly, check the items listed in the table below. Should the problem persist, there may be a malfunction.
