The CoZmonitor® Blood Glucose Module
NOTE: e CoZmonitor® module may not be avail-
able in all markets. If you do not have or do not
plan to use the CoZmonitor® module you do not
need to read any instructions associated with it.
e CoZmonitor® module is powered by FreeStyle®
from Abbott Diabetes Care and uses FreeStyle® test
strips. Snap the CoZmonitor® module onto the back
of your Deltec Cozmo® pump to create an all-in-one
insulin pump and blood glucose monitoring system.
When you insert a FreeStyle® test strip and test a
blood sample, the CoZmonitor® module sends real-
time blood glucose results to your pump that can be
viewed immediately on the pump display, where you
can choose to give a correction or meal bolus, or re-
turn to the home screen. All test results are automati-
cally stored in pump history.
Caution: e CoZmonitor® Blood Glucose
Module will only function when attached to
the Deltec Cozmo® Insulin Pump and cannot
be used as a standalone device or with any
other insulin pump.
A separate battery cap is supplied with the
CoZmonitor® module. is battery cap is slightly
longer so that it holds the battery in place with the
module attached. You must use this battery cap
when attaching the module.
e CoZmonitor® module has its own battery, a CR
2032 disk-style. It is recommended that you have an
extra battery on hand.
Refer to the User Manual supplied with the
CoZmonitor® module for instructions for attaching
and using the module, as well as important warnings,
cautions and other safety information.
Caution: e CoZmonitor® module is NOT
waterproof. Do not immerse the CoZmonito
module in any liquid. Before bathing, swimming
or any other water activity, you must remove
the module from the pump. Heavy perspiration
could also gain access to internal components.
Allowing the CoZmonitor® module to get wet
will cause it to stop working. Repeatedly expos-
ing the CoZmonitor® module to liquids will
result in you being charged for replacement
modules. Contact CozMore® Customer Service
for specics.
NOTE: If you have the program locked and are
performing a blood glucose test using the
CoZmonitor® module, you will not be oered
the option or be able to deliver a bolus from the
Blood Glucose result screen. You will need to
unlock the menu (see page 92) to deliver the
correction bolus.
Warning: Make sure that the battery cap is fully
tightened to avoid an interruption in battery
power which can cause the pump to power
down and stop the delivery of insulin. A pro-
longed interruption in the delivery of insulin
can result in serious patient injury or death.
