TheFiberDASsystemconsistsoftwomajorparts.ThisistheMasterUnit(MU)andoneormoreRemoteUnits(RU)
connectedtotheMasterUnitviaopticalfibers.EachRemoteUnitneedstobeconnectedtoafiber,butuptofour
RU’scanshareasinglefiberlinkusi
ngopticalsplitters.
Master Unit
TheMasterUnitconsistsofa19inchrackwithmodulesthatareselecteddependingonthesystemdesign.

sterunitwillassignIPaddressestoallthesubunitsintherackandalsofortheRemoteUnitswhentheyare
connectedtothesystemviathebuildinDHCPserverpresentintheRGWandBGWmodules.Thisiswillconfigure
itselfautomaticallyandcreateaprotectedsubne
tforthesystemitselfthatshouldnotbeconnecteddirectlytoa
LAN.

theinternaltrafficinthesystemstaysinternalandthatthewebinterfaceformonitoringandsupervisionaswellas
