Important:
WPA-PSKisamixtureofnumbersandlettersfromA-Z
and0-9.ForWPA-PSKyoucanentereightto63characters.This
networkkeyneedstomatchthekeyyouassigntoyourWireless
Router(orAccessPoint).
Click“OK,then“Apply”tosavethesettings.IamNOTusinga
BelkinWirelessCardforahomenetworkandIamhavingdifficulty
settingupWi-FiProtectedAccess(WPA)security.
IfyouarenotusingaBelkinWirelessDesktoporWirelessNotebook
NetworkCardthatisnotequippedwithWPA-enabledsoftware,a
filefromMicrosoftcalled“WindowsXPSupportPatchforWireless
(Wi-Fi)ProtectedAccess”isavailableforfreedownload.Download
thepatchfromMicrosoftbysearchingtheknowledgebasefor
WindowsXPWPA.
Note:
ThefilethatMicrosofthasmadeavailableworksonlywith
WindowsXP.Otheroperatingsystemsarenotsupportedatthis
time.Youalsoneedtoensurethatthewirelesscard’smanufacturer
supportsWPAandthatyouhavedownloadedandinstalledthe
latestdriverfromtheirsupportsite.

Problem:
EnablingWPA-PSK(noserver)
Solution:
1.
UnderWindowsXP,click“Start>ControlPanel>Network
Connections”.
2.
Right-clickonthe“WirelessNetworks”tab.Ensurethe“Use
Windowstoconfiguremywirelessnetworksettings”checkbox
ischecked.

Underthe“W

lessNetworks”tab,clickthe“Configure”button.

Forahomeor
smallbusinessuser,select“WPA-PSK”under
“NetworkAdministration”
.

SelectWPA(withradiusserver)ifyouareusingthiscomputer
toconnecttoacorporatenetworkthatsupportsanauthentication
