Troubleshooting
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The appliance does not come on. The appliance is not plugged into a mains
socket.
Make sure the appliance is correctly connected and
press the button(C7).
Steam leaks from under the steam
generator.
Themaximumpressuresafetysystemhas
tripped.
Turn the appliance o immediately and contact
themanufacturer’scustomerservices.
Water leaks out from the holes in the
bottomofthesoleplate.
Waterhascondensedinsidethetubesbecause
steamisbeingusedforthersttime,orhasnot
beenusedforsometime.
Pressthesteambutton(B2)severaltimesaway
fromtheironingboard.Thiswilleliminatecold
water from the steam circuit.
The thermostat dial (B3) is not in the correct
position.
Place the thermostat dial (B3) in the l l l
sector.
Theironingsystemispositionedonanunstable
and/or sloping surface.
Theironmustbeusedandrestedonastable
surface.
Brown coloured uid leaks from the
soleplate.
Chemicalwatersoftenersoradditiveshave
beenpouredintothewaterreservoirorsteam
generator.
Neverpourproductsintothewaterreservoir(see
section: “What water to use”).
Clean the plate with a damp cloth and rinse the
steam generator ( ).
White specks come out of the iron
soleplate.
Thesteamgeneratorhasnotbeenrinsed
regularly.
Rinse the steam generator ( ).
Thersttimetheapplianceisturnedon,
you notice smoke.
Somepartshavebeentreatedwithsealer/
lubricantwhichevaporatesthersttimethe
iron heats up.
Thisisnormalandwillstopwhenyouhaveused
the iron a few times.
The appliance emits an intermittent
noiseassociatedwithvibrations.
Waterisbeingpumpedintothesteam
generator.
This is completely normal.
A click sound comes from inside the
appliance.
This is completely normal.
Thesteamgeneratorcapisdicultto
unscrew.
Limescale has made the steam generator cap
diculttoopen.
Turnthecapforcefully.Toavoidtheproblem,rinse
thesteamgeneratorfrequently.
Duringregeneration,nosolution
comesoutoftheremovabletube.
Thetube(A5)hasnotbeenextractedcorrectly. Putthetube(A5)backthenextractagain.
Wait for a few minutes for the internal circuit to ll
andsolutiontocomeout.Ifnecessary,extractand
replacethewaterreservoir.
Afterregeneratingthelter,the
and lights do not go out.
HoldtheOKbutton(C3)downforatleast5
seconds.
Afterllingthereservoir,the
light comes on again.
Thereservoir(A2)isnotpositionedcorrectly. Extractandreinsertthereservoirorturnthe
applianceonandobypressingthe button
(C7).
Ihavestartedlterregeneration
butdidnotrinsebeforeturningthe
appliance on.
Turn the appliance o immediately and complete
theprocedurebyrinsing.
Theappliancehasbeendropped
during transport.
Checkthattheappliancehasnotbeendamaged
and if necessary take it the manufacturer’s
customerservices.
