Nevermoveorlifttheapplianceusingtheiron
as a carrying handle.
• Removableironrest:toironmorecomfortably,youcan
removetheironrestfromtheapplianceandrestitonthe
ironingboard(g.10).
 Neverusetheironrestonatable.Theheatcouldruinthe
surfaceofthetable!
Please note:
• Whenusedforthersttime,theappliancemaygiveo
smokeandanodourforseveralminutes.Thisiscaused
byheatingandsubsequentdryingofthesealersusedin
assemblingthesteamgeneratorandiron.Youarerecom-
mendedtoventilatetheroom.
• Whileironing,it is normal tohear the waterll pump
comeonand goo.Thisiscaused bytransferofwater
fromthe reservoir to thesteam generator. It is partof
normal operation and is not a cause for concern.
Adjusting the iron thermostat (B3)
Turnthethermostatdialtosetthemostsuitabletemperature
forthetypeoffabrictobeironed.
Forsteamironing,thetemperaturemust
bewithinthesteamsectorshownalongsi-
de.
Belowisabriefguidetohelpyouchoosethebesttemperature

Topping up the water in the reservoir
Whenthewaterrunsout,the light comes on. When the
“nowater”lightcomesonsteadily,youshouldtopupthewa-
terinthereservoirassoonaspossible.Thiswillenableyouto
continue ironing after a short interruption.
Whenthewaterinthereservoirhasrunout,thepumpbeco-
mes noisier.
This is part of normal operation and is not a cause for concern.
However, you are recommended to top up the water in
the reservoir immediately.
Whenthislightcomeson,proceedasdescribedinthesection
“Fillingthereservoir”.
Dry ironing
Todryiron,turnthethermostatdialontheirontoselectthe
temperaturemostsuitableforthegarmentstobeironed,then
ironwithoutpressingthesteambutton.
Auto-O
Ifsteamisnotdeliveredformorethan8minutes,auto-ois
activated and the light C10 in the / button
ashes.
Toreactivatetheappliance,pressthe buttonorthesteam
buttonontheironandwaitforthesteamready light (C8)
to come on steadily.
Rinsing the steam generator
To optimise operation, maintain constant steam production
overtimeandsaveenergy,rinsethesteamgeneratorwhene-
verthe light (g. 11) comes on. Proceed as follows:
• Makesuretheapplianceisturnedo,unpluggedfromthe
mains and completely cold.
• Extractthereservoirandremovetheironrest;
• TurntheprotectivecapA6anticlockwise(g.12).
• Unscrewthesteamgeneratorcap(g.13)anticlockwise
andremove;
• Eliminatethewaterinthesteamgenerator(g.14);
• Resttheapplianceonitsside(g.15)andllwithama-
ximumof0.7litresofwaterusingafunneltoavoidthe
waterspillingoutsidethesteamgenerator.Closetightly;
