• the appliance has to be used for wall-mounted application
• in the case of installation inside a bathroom, the radiator must be installed outside zone 1 and the switch/electronic control must be in zone 3
•
• for safety reasons, the radiator must not be installed beneath a mains socket
• in the case of use without power-wire, the black wire has to be cut some cm from the top, and no way connected to the earth wire
For further information, see the Technical Information pages
Remote control
The radiator has six operating modes (or functions):
Comfort mode: the chosen temperature is regulated by the remote control
Night mode: the electric radiator is regulated at 2 °C below comfort
temperature
Pilot wire mode: the radiator warmer can be adjusted remotely through
a central electric radiator regulation system (mode available only in homes
fitted with such a system)
Timer mode: using the remote control, the on and o
times of the radiator
can be programmed hour by hour for the seven days of the week
Two hour override function: when this function is activated, the radiator
operates at maximum power for two hours to heat the room rapidly.
Freeze prevention function: when the dial is on minimum, the radiator
comes on automatically when room temperature drops below 7 °C to prevent
the liquid in the radiator from freezing.
Since 2012, the new De’Longhi electronic control o
ers a
“child safety” function which lowers surface temperature
(62°C) to avoid burns
The
electronic control can also automatically control its
own internal temperature to avoid electrical malfunction
and memorise the set programme for 2 hours in the event of
power failure.

Marco is an aluminium electric radiator with steatite heating elements for
use in electric heating systems or to heat a room independently from the
central hot water heating system. The heart of Marco consists of the steatite
heating element, a type of stone known for its thermal properties. Thanks
to its high degree of inertia, steatite gives heat constantly and gradually,
continuing even after the radiator has been turned off , thus saving energy.
The electronic thermostat (supplied with remote control) enables
the room to be regulated to the required temperature.

THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY: OIL, WATER & STONE
*The internationally recognised system of units
W/(m
o
K)
• Thermal conductivity is the property of a material to conduct heat.
In SI* units thermal conductivity is measured in watts per meter kelvin
W/(m
o
K). See graph above.
In summary
• The DeLonghi Marco range with its steatite element conducts heat
signifi cantly better than oil or water-fi lled electric radiator panels and
requires less continual energy supplied to it to do so.
