2. Immerse the paper completely in a glass of water for one
second.
3. Remove the paper from the water and shake lightly. After
about a minute, 1, 2, 3, or 4 red squares form, depending
on the hardness of the water. Each square corresponds to
one level.

Set water hardness
1. Make sure the appliance is o (but connected to the mains
electricity supply and with the main switch in the I posi-
tion);
2. Press and hold the button for at least 6 seconds.
The lights come
on;
3. Press the ECO button to set the actual water hardness (as
measured by the indicator paper).

4. Press the button to exit the menu.
The machine is now reprogrammed with the new water hard-
ness setting.

DISPOSAL
Important information for correct disposal of the
product in accordance with EC Directive 2002/96/
EC.
At the end of its working life, the product must not
be disposed of as urban waste.
It must be taken to a special local authority dierentiated wa-
ste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service.
Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible
negative consequences for the environment and health deri-
ving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent
materials to be recovered to obtain signicant savings in ener-
gy and resources.
As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances
separately, the product is marked with a rubbish bin bearing
a cross.
