PREPARATIONS FOR USE
What water to use
The appliance works with normal tap water.
Important!
Neveruseothertypesofwater(e.g.rainwater,waterforbatte-
ries,conditionersetc.)anddonotusechemicalsordetergents
(e.g.perfumedwater,essences,watersoftener,etc).
Setting water hardness
The ironing system is tted with a resin limescale lter in the
tank,enablingnormaltapwatertobeused.
The resins reduce water hardness and therefore prolong the
working life of the appliance.
TheltermustberegeneratedorreplacedwhentheFILTER
light on the appliance control panel comes on. To customise
thewarningaccordingtothewaterused,proceedasfollows:
• checkthehardnessofyourwaterusingtheindicatorpa-
per Jprovided:
- dipthepaperinthewaterfor1second,
- shaketoremoveexcesswater;
- waitfor1minute;
- check theresultinthetableandusea cointoturn the
water hardness regulator O to the position corresponding
to your water hardness:
0 - 9 °F
10 - 18 °F
19 - 36 °F
36 °F

Filling the tank
Danger!
Makesurethecableisunpluggedfromthemainssocket.
• Openthewatertankdoorandllthetank(g.1).
• Insertthetank(g.2)untilitclicksintoplace.
Danger!
Make sure the removable tank is rmly in place.
Ifthetankisnotfullyinserted,watercouldleakfromtheap-
pliance.
• Plugtheapplianceintoamainssocket.
Please note:
Thersttimeyouusetheappliance,thesteamgeneratoris
empty.
Whenllingthesteamgeneratorforthersttime,itwilltake
longer to heat up.
During lling/heating it isnormal for the pump to make a
noise.
OPERATION
Steam ironing
• Model with two buttons (R and S): Pressthe
(ironon)buttonR and (steamgeneratoron)button
S.Thelightsonthecorrespondingbuttonscomeontoge-
ther with the light X on the iron.
• Models with one ON/OFF button (S): Pressthe
buttonS.ThelightonthebuttonandthelightX on the
iron come on.
