• Theironcanberestedinanuprightposition
(g.7).However,makesurethesurfaceis
attoavoidtheironfallingover.
Using the “domestic” iron
• Afterturningtheapplianceonasdescribed
above,waitforthe“steamready”light Y to
go off.
• To discharge steam, press the steam but-
ton U under the handgrip of the iron. Some
modelsalsohaveasteambutton Z1 on the
handgrip.
• Somemodelshavean“auto-off”safetydevi-
ce which turns the iron off if left unused for
30 seconds in the horizontal position or 8
minutesintheuprightposition(g.8).
 When the device is active, light Z flashes.
This light is on steadily during normal use
and indicates that the iron is plugged into
the mains.
 To resume ironing, shake the iron slightly
forwards until light Z comes on steadily.
 WaitforlightYtogooffbeforedischarging
steam.
• Somemodelshavea “steamburst”button
Z1.Thisfunctioncanbeusedwhentheap-
pliance is ready to discharge steam.
 Theapplianceissetforanintervalof30se-
condsbetweenconsecutiveburstsofsteam
toavoidwaterleakingfromtheplate.
• Theironcanberestedinanuprightposition.
Makesurethesurfaceisattoavoidtheiron
fallingoveraccidentally.Toresttheironcor-
rectly,xthesteam/cabletubeontheright
orleftbypushingitasfarasitwillgountilit
clicks into place.
• Safetransport:theironhasalockingsystem
toavoiditbeingaccidentlydroppedduring
transport or when stored after use.
 Tolocktheironinposition,insertthetipin
the housing on the iron rest and press the
irondownwardsuntilitclicksintoplace(g.
9).
 Toreleasetheiron,pressthe button
Z3andremovetheiron.Whileironing,rest
theironasshowning.10(withoutlocking
in place).
Important!
Nevermoveorlifttheapplianceusingtheironas
a carrying handle.
Adjusting the thermostat
Turnthethermostatknobtosetthe
mostsuitable temperature for the
typeoffabrictobeironed.
Forsteamironing,thetemperature
must be within the steam sector
shown alongside.
Below is a brief guide to help you choose the
besttemperatureforthetypeoffabrictobeiro-
ned.

Steam regulator
ThesteamregulationknobSenablesthequanti-
tyofsteamtobeincreasedordecreasedaccor-
dingtothefabricbeingironed.
Whenyouturntheironon,youarerecommen-
dedtoturnthesteamregulationknobtothema-
ximumsteamposition.
The corresponding light comes on.
Topping up the tank with water
Whenthewaterrunsout,the light comes
on.
Whenthislightcomeson,proceedasdescribed
in the section “Filling the tank”.
Dry ironing
• Todryiron,turntheapplianceonbypressing
the buttonQ (certain models only).
 Inmodelswithasinglebutton,pressthe
button R and do not press the steam but-
ton.
• Turnthethermostatknobtoselectthemost
suitabletemperatureforthegarmentsbeing
