Filling the tank
Danger!
Make sure the cable is unplugged from the
mains socket.
• Thersttimeyouusetheappliance,remove
the cap from the resin limescale lter (g.
1).
• Placethelimescaleltersuppliedintheap-
pliance(g.2)andxinpositionbyplacing
theleverinthe position(g.3).
Important!
The appliance will not function without the lime-
scalelter.
Thelter should not be removed after each iro-
ning session,butonlywhenitneedsreplacing
or regenerating (see “Limescale lter mainte-
nance”).

• Insertthetank(g.5).
Danger!
Make sure the removable tank is firmly in pla-
ce�
Thevalvesupplyingwatertothesteamgenera-
torislocatedonthebottomofthetank.
Ifthetankisnotfullyinsertedandthevalveis
therefore not correctly connected to the applian-
ce,watercouldleakfromtheappliance.
• Plugtheapplianceintoamainssocket.
Please note:
Thersttimeyouusetheappliance,thesteam

generatorisempty.Whenllingthesteamge-
neratorforthersttime,theheatinguptimewill
belongerastheairmustbeeliminatedfromthe
steamgeneratorandreplacedbythewater.
Duringlling/heatingitisnormalforthepump

The appliance will also run out of water much
morequicklythanwithsubsequentlls.
OPERATION
Steam ironing
• Pressthe (ironon)buttonQ and the
(steamgeneratoron)buttonR. The lights on
thecorrespondingbuttonscomeon.
• Waitforthe light P to come on and the
light Y to go off.
• ProceedbypressingthesteambuttonU.
Please note:
• Whenusedforthersttime,theappliance
maygiveoffsmokeandanodourforseveral
minutes.Thisiscausedbyheatingandsub-
sequentdryingofthesealersusedinassem-
blingthesteamgeneratorandiron.Youare
recommendedtoventilatetheroom.
• Eachtimetheapplianceisturnedon,itper-
formsaself-diagnosiscycleindicatedbythe
lights coming on.
• LightsP and Y will go on and off during iro-
ning,accordingtothetemperaturereached
bythesteamgeneratorandiron.
Itispartofnormaloperationandnotacause
for concern.
• Whileironing,itisnormaltohearthewater
llpumpcomeonandgooff.Thisiscaused
bytransferofwaterfromthetanktotheste-
am generator. This is part of normal opera-
tion and is not a cause for concern.
Using the “professional” iron
• Afterturningtheapplianceonasdescribed
above,waitforthe“steamready”lightY to
go off.
• Todischargesteam,pressthesteambutton
U under the handgrip of the iron.
• Todischargesteamcontinuously,movethe
steam lock V forwards.
• SomemodelshaveaselectorW to choose
steam at the tip of the iron only or across
