Fundamental safety warnings

Danger!

This is an electrical appliance and may cause

electric shock.

You should therefore respect the following sa-

fety warnings:

• Nevertouchtheappliancewithdamphan-

ds.

• Never use the appliance with bare or wet

feet.

• Neverimmersetheapplianceinwater.

• Never unplug the appliance by pulling the

powercableortheapplianceitself.

• Ifthesocketandpowercableplugareincom-

patible,thesocketshouldbechangedfora

suitabletypebyaqualiedprofessionalonly

who should ensure that the cross-section of

thewiresleadingtothesocketissuitablefor

thepowerabsorbedbytheappliance.

• To add water, turn the ironing system off

using the switch, then unplug from the

mains.Neverlltheapplianceunderrunning

water.

• Alwaysunplugtheappliancefromthemains

socketbeforellingthetankwithwater.

• Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmustbere-

placedbythemanufacturerorthemanufac-

turer’sCustomerServicesinordertoavoid

all risk.

• Adapters, multiple sockets and/or exten-

standards and regulations should be used,

takingcarenottoexceedthepowerlimitin-

• The safety of this appliance is guaranteed

only if correctly connected to a proper and

effective earth connection as specied by

current electrical safety standards and re-

Before cleaning or servicing, disconnect the appliance by unplugging from the mains. In the event of malfunction and/or faulty operation, switch off the appliance and take it to Customer Services. Before using the appliance, check that the mains supply voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the rating plate.

Important! Never use other types of water, chemical substances or detergents (e.g. perfumed water, essences, water softener, etc).

When filling the steam generator for the first time, the heating up time will be longer as the air must be eliminated from the steam generator and replaced by the water. During filling/heating it is normal for the pump to make a noise. The appliance will also run out of water much more quickly than with subsequent fills. DISPOSAL Place the iron on the iron rest (in the secured position for models with domestic iron) and wait for the system to cool down before putting it away. To put the appliance away tidily, fix the steam/cable tube to the hook F and wind the power cable around the cable tidy H (fig. 14). Store the iron in a dry place. • • Important information for correct disposal of the product in accordance with EC Directive 2002/96/EC.

PROBLEMS RESOLVABLE WITHOUT CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICESS PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY The appliance does not come on. • The appliance is not plugged into a mains socket. • Make sure the appliance is correctly connected and press the iron and steam generator ON buttons. Steam leaks from behind the tank. • The maximum pressure safety system has tripped. • Turn the appliance off immediately and contact an authorised De’Longhi Customer Services.
