SAFETY

Fundamental safety warnings

Danger!

This is an electrical appliance and may cause

electric shock.

You should therefore respect the following sa-

fety warnings:

• Nevertouchtheappliancewithdamphan-

ds.

• Never use the appliance with bare or wet

feet.

• Neverimmersetheapplianceinwater.

• Never unplug the appliance by pulling the

powercableortheapplianceitself.

• Ifthesocketandpowercableplugareincom-

patible,thesocketshouldbechangedfora

suitabletypebyaqualiedprofessionalonly

who should ensure that the cross-section of

thewiresleadingtothesocketissuitablefor

thepowerabsorbedbytheappliance.

• To add water, turn the ironing system off

using the switch, then unplug from the

mains.Neverlltheapplianceunderrunning

water.

• Alwaysunplugtheappliancefromthemains

socketbeforellingthetankwithwater.

• Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmustbere-

placedbythemanufacturerorthemanufac-

turer’sCustomerServicesinordertoavoid

all risk.

• Adapters, multiple sockets and/or exten-

sionsshouldnotbeused.

 Iftheiruseisnecessary,onlyadapters,mul-

tiplesocketsandextensionscomplyingwith

current safety standards and regulations

should be used, taking care not to exceed

the power limit indicated on the adapter.

• The safety of this appliance is guaranteed

only if correctly connected to a proper and

effective earth connection as specied by

current electrical safety standards and regu-

lations.

 Thisfundamentalsafetyrequisiteshouldbe

veried.If in doubt, aska qualied electri-

cian to check the mains system thoroughly.

Failure to earth the appliance absolves the

manufacturerofallliabilityfordamage.

Before cleaning or servicing, disconnect the appliance by unplugging from the mains. In the event of malfunction and/or faulty operation, switch off the appliance and take it to Customer Services. Before using the appliance, check that the mains supply voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the rating plate.

Using the “professional” iron • After turning the appliance on as described above, wait for the “iron at temperature” light O to go off. • To discharge steam, press the steam button L on top of and under the handgrip of the iron. • To discharge steam continuously, move the continuous steam lock M forwards. • The iron can be rested in an upright position (fig. 1). However, make sure the surface is flat to avoid the iron falling over.

AFTER IRONING When the water in the tank has run out, the pump becomes noisier. This is part of normal operation and is not a cause for concern. However, as described above, you should immediately top up the water in the tank. After finishing ironing, you should put the ironing system away with the door tightly closed to avoid dust and foreign bodies falling into the tank and possibly jeopardising operation of the pump.
