Configuring global printer settings
Use the Global Settings page to configure global printer settings for ThinOS 8.5 and later version devices.

Option Description
Default Printer
Select this option to set a printer as a default printer.
PrinterMap settings The files uploaded to Apps and data > File repository >
Inventory are displayed. From the drop-down menu, select the
mapping file.
Configuring printer settings
Use the Printer settings page to configure a new printers for ThinOS 8.5 and later version devices.

Option Description
Printer Type From the drop-down menu select the printer type. The following
are the types of printer:
Local printer
LPD printer
SMB printer
Local Printer From the drop-down menu select the local printer connection.

Option Description
Name Enter the name of the shared printer.
LocalName This option is applicable only for LPD printer. Enter the name of the
printer.
Host This option is applicable only for local LPD printer. Enter the IP
address of the LPD service host.
Queue This option is applicable only for LPD printer. Enter the queue name
of the printer.
Username This option is applicable only for SMB printer. Enter the user name.
Password This option is applicable only for SMB printer. Enter the password.
Domain This option is applicable only for SMB printer. Enter the domain
name.
Printer ID Enter the printer ID. The printer ID specifies the windows print
driver name. The default printer ID is Generic/Text Only. This
value is case-sensitive.
Class Enter the class in the provided field. The following options are the
predefined classes:
PCL4
PCL5
PS
TXT
Enabled Select the check box to enable the printer.
