4 In the Add Standard App Policy page, do the following:
a Enter a Policy Name.
b From the Group drop-down menu, select a group.
c From the Task drop-down list, select a task.
d From the OS Type drop-down menu, select an operating system type.
e Enter an Application.
f If you want to deploy an image to a specic operating system or platform, select either OS Subtype Filter or Platform Filter.
g Enter the Installer Parameters.
h From the drop-down list, select the option for applying the policy automatically.
5 Click Save.
The newly added policies are displayed with the following details:
• Policy Name
• Group
• Application
• OS Type
• Filters
• Task
• Apply to new devices.
• Apply on check in
• Repository Name
• Status
6 To add an advanced policy to the inventory, click Add Advanced Policy.
The Add Advanced App Policy page is displayed.
7 In the Add Advanced App Policy page, do the following:
a Enter a Policy Name, Group, Task, and OS Type.
b Click Add app, and select one or more applications. For each application, you can select a pre and post install script under Pre-
Install, Post-Install, and Install Parameters. If you want the system to reboot after the application is successfully installed,
select Reboot.
c If you want this policy to be applied on all subgroups, select Include All Subgroups.
d If you want to deploy this policy to specic operating system or platform, select OS Subtype Filter or Platform Filter.
e Timeout displays a message on the client which gives you time to save your work before the installation begins. Specify the
number of minutes the message dialog should be displayed on the client.
f To allow delay in execution of the policy, select the Allow delay of policy execution check box. If this option is selected, the
following drop-down menus are enabled:
• From the Max Hours per Delay drop-down menu, select the maximum hours (1–24 hours) you can delay the policy
execution.
• From the Max delays drop-down menu, select the number of times (1–3) you can delay execution of the policy.
g From the Apply Policy Automatically drop-down list, select the option for applying the policy automatically.
If you select the Apply the policy to devices on check in from the drop-down list, you must enter the maximum retry value in
the Max retries eld. The available values are No retry, 2 , and 3.
8 Click Save.
9 To edit a policy, select the policy from the list, and then click Edit Policy.
10 To delete a policy, select the policy from the list, and then click Delete Policy.
Managing File Repository
The le repository allows you to quickly view and manage the le repository inventory.
To add a new le, do the following:
1 Click Apps & Data tab on the Edge Device Manager portal.
2 Under File Repository, click Inventory on the left pane.
The Inventory File Repository page is displayed.
