Session collaboration
The Session Collaboration feature lets users invite other users to join an existing remote desktop session.
To configure session collaboration on ThinOS, do the following:
1. Launch VMware Horizon View desktop.
2. Click the VMware Session Collaboration icon from Windows system tray.
3. Input username or email address to invite.
4. Send the invitation to the user.
After the other user logs in, the VMware Session Collaboration feature is enabled and both users can work on same session.
NOTE: ThinOS 9.1 supports inviting other users to join the remote desktop session. However, ThinOS 9.1 does not support
joining other sessions using session invitations.
Battery state redirection
When the Enable Battery State Redirection agent group policy setting is enabled, information about the ThinOS battery is
redirected to a Windows remote desktop. The information contains details such as the charging status, percentage of charge,
low battery notification, and so on. This setting is enabled by default.
Workspace ONE mode
When a Horizon administrator enables Workspace ONE mode for a Connection Server instance, VMware Horizon client users
are redirected to Workspace ONE server to launch their entitlements.
For information about Workspace ONE mode configuration, see the Dell Wyse ThinOS Version 9.1 Administrator's Guide at
www.dell.com/support.
Relative mouse
Relative mouse is supported in Blast and PCoIP sessions. It can be enabled or disabled from:
● Wyse Management Suite and Admin Policy Tool
● Blast/PCoIP session menu
Limitation—Due to VMware limitation, the touch screen does not work correctly when the relative mouse feature is enabled.
For steps to enable relative mouse feature, see the Dell Wyse ThinOS Version 9.1 Administrator's Guide at www.dell.com/
support.
Limitations for VMware Horizon
● Time zone sync mismatch—Certain time zones mismatch during synchronization due to VMware limitation.
● The keyboard layout sync mismatch—Keyboard layouts mismatch during synchronization due to VMware limitation.
● CapsLock and NumLock LED does not sync in Blast session.
● Touch screen does not work on seamless application window and RDSH windows due to VMware limitation.
● Right-click and double-click does not work on desktop window for touchscreen due to VMware limitation.
● If VMware Horizon remote session relative mouse is enabled, occasionally the mouse does not work well on VNC.
● Seamless application does not have software development kit support. If you launch two applications on the same server and
drag or move one of the windows, the other window shows a black screen temporarily.
● If you change the mouse pointer size to a number greater than 3 in a Blast session, you must use Ctrl+Alt to exit the session
and view the floating bar on the ThinOS modern desktop.
● Camera redirection support is limited. A blank screen is displayed. This issue is due to VMware Horizon limitation.
● USB disk mapping is not supported by VMware Horizon on ThinOS 9.1.
● Video performance is poor since Multimedia redirection (MMR) is not supported on ThinOS 9.1.
● Limitations for VMware Horizon in Wyse Management Suite or Admin Policy Tool:
○ If you change any Horizon-related configuration, you must sign off from the broker and sign in again for the changes to
be applied.
