Schedule a device command job
Steps
1. On the Jobs page, click Schedule device command job.
The Device Command Job screen is displayed.
2. Configure the following options:
a. From the Command drop-down list, select a command. The available options are:
Restart
Wake on LAN
Shutdown
Query
ReImage
LockApplicable for ThinOS 8.x and ThinOS 9.x devices
Send messageApplicable for Windows Embedded, ThinLinux, ThinOS 8.x, ThinOS 9.x, and Dell Hybrid Client
powered devices
Factory ResetApplicable for ThinOS 8.x, ThinOS 9.x, and Dell Hybrid Client powered devices
The device command is a recurring job. On selected days of the week and at a specific time the commands are sent to
the selected devices.
b. From the OS Type drop-down list, select the type of operating system.
c. In the Name field, Enter the name of the job.
d. From the Group drop-down list, select a group name.
e. Enter the job description.
f. From the Run drop-down list, select the date or time.
g. Enter or select the following details:
EffectiveEnter the starting and ending date.
Start betweenEnter the starting and ending time.
On day(s)Select the days of the week.
3. Click the Preview option to view the details of the scheduled job.
4. On the next page, click the Schedule option to initiate the job.
