In order to keep the basic function of the D5000 always
ON, it must always “listen” to any signal from available
hosts by transmitting beacon frames. This cannot be de-
activated. However, the D5000 has a physical power
switch and the user needs to switch this off to power down
the D5000’s wireless function.

The Dell D5000 Wireless Docking Station enters into
the network standby mode once it is powered on and
does not make any wireless connection.
The time period of switching into standby mode
depends on the user ’s behavior. Once the user
disconnects the WiGig connection between the laptop
and the D5000, the physical network will be de-
activated. The D5000 will then enter into the network
standby mode.
