Owner's Manual

Roaming Only: Select this option when you travel outside the Sprint service area. By selecting this
option the Mobile Broadband Card will select a network that has a roaming agreement with Sprint.
When you choose this option you are roaming within a "preferred" roaming area. If there is no roaming
agreement between Sprint and the local carrier, you may be unable to complete calls in a non-
preferred zone.
Data Network Automatic: Select this option if you would like to have your connections managed automatically. By
selecting this option, one of the cellular networks available in your area will be automatically selected
when you connect.
NOTE: The Mobile Broadband Card will always try to connect to a Sprint CDMA 1xEV-DO
network first before attempting to connect to an 1xRTT network. 1xEV-DO networks always have
priority. If an 1xEV-DO network is unavailable, the Mobile Broadband Card will search for an available
1xRTT network. You can disable Automatic Mode at any time if you are not connected to any network
by selecting another network.
EV-DO Only: Select this option if you would like to connect only to 1xEV-DO networks. You can
disable EV-DO Mode at any time if you are not connected to any network by selecting another option.
1xRTT Only: Select this option if you would like to connect only to 1xRTT networks. When you apply
this option, the next time you make a connection the Mobile Broadband Card will search for only
1xRTT networks.
NOTE: If the signal strength is too weak and you are unable to connect using 1xRTT in the 1900
MHz frequency, or if your connection fails due to this selection, disable the setting. You can disable
1xRTT Mode at any time if you are not connected to any network by selecting another connection
mode.
To configure the connection settings:
1. In the Main window, select Configuration from the Edit menu.
2. In the Configuration dialog box, click the Device Setting tab, and set any of the following:
In the Connection Mode drop-down list, select your mobile broadband card.
Select a connection mode option: Manual Connect to manually control the connection, or Auto-Connect At Startup
to connect automatically at startup using
NDIS.
To change your roaming or data network settings, select a new preference.
3. To close the dialog box and save your settings, click OK.
NOTE: If you choose Auto-Connect At Startup mode, you will always be connected when you start your computer provided
you are in a data service coverage area.
