1 Release summary VMware vSphere 6.7.x includes the ESXi 6.7.x hypervisor and is managed by vCenter Server 6.7.x. The current release of VMware vSphere incorporates feature upgrades, new hardware, feature support, and bug fixes that enhance the virtualization experience in VMware environments. 3 New and enhanced in VMware vSphere 6.7.x release VMware vSphere 6.7.x includes the ESXi 6.7.x hypervisor and is managed by vCenter Server 6.7.x. The current release of VMware vSphere incorporates feature upgrades, new hardware, feature support, and bug fixes that enhance the virtualization experience in VMware environments. NOTE: The issues that are listed in this document are only applicable for Dell EMC servers with VMware vSphere 6.7.x installed.
4 Fixes The following issue is fixed in ESXi 6.7 U3: Description: On Dell EMC yx4x PowerEdge R7415 and R6415 servers with AMD processors, hot-add or hot-replace of NVMe devices did not work at times. A warning message was displayed in the VMkernel log similar to the following: WARNING: PCIEHP: 850: 0000:c0:03.4: hotplug slot:0xb7 Inserted adapter seems broken, or removed (slotStatusPDS: 1). Aborting hot-add operation.

The UID information for the Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller H310 is displayed incorrectly Description: The UID information for the Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller H310 is displayed incorrectly as unknown.vmhba3 when the command localcli storage core adapter list is queried. This issue is a cosmetic issue and can be ignored. Applies to: ESXi 6.x Systems affected: All Dell EMC PowerEdge servers that support PERC H310 controller.
Network connectivity is lost when virtual machines configured with Virtual Guest Tagging (VGT) are migrated to another ESXi host Description: When virtual machines that are configured with 802.1q VLAN tagging are migrated to another ESXi host, the network connectivity is lost. The network connectivity is reestablished within a few minutes without any user intervention. Applies to: ESXi 6.7.
Systems affected: All Dell EMC PowerEdge servers. Tracking number: 171186 The NIC description is incorrect Description: In Dell EMC PowerEdge systems with ESXi 6.7.x, the installed Broadcom 57416 device is displayed as Broadcom BCM57416 NetXtreme-E 10GBASE-T RDMA Ethernet Controller instead of Broadcom BCM57416 NetXtreme-E Dual-Media 10G RDMA Ethernet Controller. This is a cosmetic issue and there is no functionality loss. Applies to: ESXi 6.7.

Systems affected: All Dell EMC PowerEdge servers Tracking number: 142775 The vmkernel log displays a warning Description: On the Dell EMC PowerEdge servers with AMD EPYC processors , the vmkernel log displays a following warning message: WARNING: AMDIOMMU: 222: completion wait bit is not set after a while! These messages are displayed on vSAN Cluster nodes. Applies to: ESXi 6.7.
Tracking number: 114799 PSOD is not seen in the host when the NMI option is selected in the iDRAC UI Description: In the iDRAC UI of Dell EMC PowerEdge servers with AMD EPYC processors, below the Configuration tab, select the Power Control option, and then select NMI(Non-Masing Interrupt). On selecting the option NMI on the idrac page, the server crashes the PSOD. However, the PSOD is not seen in the yx5x PowerEdge servers with AMD EPYC processors due to a bug in AMD IOMMU. Applies to: ESXi 6.7.
Multiple sfcb core files are generated on ESXi 6.7 U1 host after installing OM and iSM Description: On Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, sfcb core files are generated in /var/core (for example, sfcbProviderMa-zdump.000) after installing OpenManage (OM) and iDRAC Service Module (iSM) vib. Applies to: ESXi 6.7 U1 Workaround: This issue can be ignored because there is no functionality loss.
iDRAC web interface shows incorrect status with ESXi inbox native driver Description: If the ESXi inbox native driver is installed, iDRAC web interface displays incorrect status for network card details such as OS Driver State and Family Driver version. Applies to: ESXi 6.7.x Workaround: This issue can be ignored because there is no functionality loss. For more information about the port link status, use vCenter Server or the esxcli command: esxcfg-nics -l.
While logging into OMSA, vSAN cluster experiences Connection Error Description: While logging into OMSA, the vSAN cluster, under heavy utilization, experiences a Connection Error. Applies to: ● ESXi 6.7.x ● openwsmand v2.2.1 Workaround: Restart the WSMan service by running the following command: #/etc/init.d/wsman restart Systems affected: All Dell EMC PowerEdge servers Tracking number: 101360 Dell EMC customized VMware ESXi 6.
iDRAC does not report the operating system information Description: PowerEdge servers with VMware ESXi 6.7 installed do not report the operating system information that is installed in iDRAC. Applies to: ESXi 6.7.x Workaround: This is an expected behavior and it is recommended to set it manually by the following steps: 1. Run the command: vmware -vl The output is: build . 2.

Identifying the series of your Dell EMC PowerEdge servers The PowerEdge series of servers from Dell EMC are divided into different categories based on their configuration. They are referred as YX2X, YX3X, YX4X, YX4XX, or YX5XX series of servers. The structure of the naming convention is described below: The letter Y denotes the character in the server model number. The character denotes the form factor of the server.
