Identifying the series of your Dell EMC PowerEdge
servers
The PowerEdge series of servers form Dell EMC are divided into different categories on the basis of their configuration. For
easier reference, they are referred to as YX2X, YX3X, YX4X, YX4XX, or YX5XX series of servers. The structure of the naming
convention is described below:
The letter Y denotes the alphabets in the server model number. The alphabets denote the form factor of the server. The form
factors are described below:
Cloud (C)
Flexible(F)
Modular (M or MX)
Rack(R)
Tower(T)
The letter X denotes the numbers in the server model number. The numbers denote multiple items about the server.
