A list of agent properties appears in the NetMonitor pane.
The position of the NetMonitor pane depends on the dashboard you used to access agent
properties. If you used the Agent Properties dashboard, the NetMonitor pane appears to the
right of the Types pane in the display area. If you used the Agent Status dashboard, the
NetMonitor pane appears across the display area.
Collection Rate
The collection rate (or sample frequency) is the number of seconds between the end of one collection
period and the start of the next.
Quick Check is the default frequency list included with the NetMonitor agent. This utility verifies
whether a device is alive; it does not instruct the agent to collect data unless it fails to detect the
devices you have told it to monitor. Use Quick Check when you want to frequently verify that devices
are up and running.
If Quick Check detects the devices in the currently monitored list, vFoglight continues to collect data
according to the sample frequency. However, if it fails to detect the devices, it immediately initiates a
data collection cycle and triggers the NetMonitor Device_Unavailable rule which sends a message to
the Alert Console and an e-mail to the system administrator. For more information about this rule, see
the Cartridge for Operating Systems Reference Guide.
