Agent Properties
To set the match list:
1 From the Message Trap List, select the list that you want to use to monitor the messages. The
default is
FilterTrapFile.
a If you want to clone the list, click Clone. When prompted, enter a name for the cloned list.
For more information on cloning, see the vFoglight Administration and Configuration
Guide.
b If you want to add to or modify a message trap list, click Edit.
The list appears in the right pane.
Continue with the following procedures:
• To create a match list
• To modify a match list
2 Click Save.
To create a match list
1 Click Add new row.
2 In the Match String box, enter a literal string or regular expression for which the LogFilter
agent should search. For more information, see “Regular Expressions” on page 70.
Note Literal strings are case-sensitive for UNIX and case-insensitive for Windows.
3 From the Error Severity list, select the status you want to attach to the message. The status is
colour-coded in the console.
Note The agent sorts a message trap list by severity in the following order: Fatal, Critical, Warning. Within
each severity level, the agent sorts log messages according to the length of the match string (the
longest match string has priority).
4 In the User Message box, enter the message that the LogFilter agent should send when it
encounters the message you specified with the match string.
5 Click Save.
To modify a match list
1 Double-click the entry that you want to modify.
The line appears highlighted.
2 Modify the parameters that you want to change.
3 Click Save.
