Cartridge for Operating Systems
The position of the DiskIO pane depends on the dashboard you used to access agent properties.
If you used the Agent Properties dashboard, the DiskIO pane appears to the right of the Types
pane in the display area. If you used the Agent Status dashboard, the DiskIO pane appears
across the display area.
Collection Rate
The collection rate, or sample frequency, is the number of seconds between the end of one collection
period and the start of the next.
To modify the sample frequency:
1 In the Sample Frequency (seconds) box, enter the sample frequency in seconds. For
example, enter 300 to set the interval between collections to five minutes.
2 Click Save.
Collection Policy
You can set the type and number of disks that the agent will monitor by specifying the collection
mode and collection length parameters.
To set the collection policy:
1 From the Collection Mode list, select one of the following:
• Hot Disks - collects performance data for Disk List Size disks with the highest utilization.
• Cold Disks - collects performance data for Disk List Size disks with the lowest utilization.
• Hot and Cold Disks - collects performance data for Disk List Size disks with the highest
and lowest utilization.
• All Disks - collects performance data for all disks.
2 In the Collection Length box, specify how many of the disks with the highest utilization you
want to include in the agent views. The default is the top five disks.
3 Click Save.
Exclusion Lists
You can specify a list of file system types for which performance data should not be collected.
