Agent Properties
URL List
You can create multiple server file lists and indicate which one you want the agent to use.
To select the list:
1
From the Server/URL List File, select the list that you want to use to control the Web pages
that are monitored. The default is
WebServerListFile.
2
If you want to clone the list, click Clone. When prompted, enter a name for the cloned list. For
more information on cloning, see the vFoglight Administration and Configuration Guide.
3
If you want to add to a list file, click Edit.
The list appears in the right pane.
Continue with the following steps:
a
Click Add new row.
b
In the Server to Monitor box, enter the name of the Web server to monitor.
c
In the Page to Monitor box, enter the URL (http:// not needed) of the Web page on the
server to monitor.
d
From the Page Fetch Policy drop-down list, select the method you want to use to obtain the
Web page.
GET fetches the entire page, while HEAD fetches only the page status (for example,
timestamp and size), which the Web browser uses to compare against a cached copy of the
page.
e
Select one of the Monitor Page options to start or stop the monitoring of the web server and
its Web page (specified in step c) by the WebMonitor agent.
f
In the Timeout (msec) box, enter the time out parameter in milliseconds. If the server times
out, a string
Timeout will be shown in the Message field of the PageStats table. For further
information, refer to the Cartridge for Operating Systems Reference Guide.
g
If you want the agent to use a secure socket layer, select the True option.
h
If you want the agent to use a different port for monitoring, select the True option.
The HTTP default is port 80; the HTTPS default is port 443.
i
If you selected Use different Port as True in the above step, enter the port number in the
Enter Port Number box.
j
Click Save.
