vConverter v4.1 Chapter 1 Introduction 18
6BvConverter Licensing
Each vConverter license allows for one P2V conversion. After each successful
conversion, the number of available conversions is decremented from the license.
Unsuccessful or cancelled conversions do not decrement licensing.
vConverter’s upstream licensing method allows for centralized use and management of
just one serial number. That is, if you have 1,000 servers to convert you can purchase a
single serial number and distribute the vConverter executable to a large number of
workstations. These downstream workstations can activate their installation using the
central system that was activated originally.
If you do not have a permanent license, a trial license will be generated for you
automatically. Each trial license allows for three conversion jobs; the license expires after
14 days.
There are two types of vConverter licenses—Server Consolidation and DR Enabled. For
information on both, refer to the Licensing Model Guide in the Documentation area of
the Vizioncore website.
