NOTE : For Linux CIMOM, the default port 5988 (for http) or 5989 (for https) is used by the system to install DSET
Provider. If custom ports are used, update the configuration file available at /opt/dell/advdiags/dset/config/dset.cfg.
For silent installation:
On Linux Operating system for Silent installation of DSET, С IMOM (SFCB or Open Pegasus) should already be installed.
To install SFCB:
1. Locate the SFCB rpm from the Operating System Media.
2. Install SFCB rpm using "rpm -ivh sblim-sfcb-*.rpm"
3. Try to perform DSET silent installation.
To install Tog-Pegasus:
1. Locate the Tog-Pegasus rpm from the Operating System Media.
2. Install Tog-Pegasus using "rpm -ivh tog-pegasus-*.rpm"
3. Start the Pegasus services.
4. Try to perform DSET silent installation.
Installation Details
For Windows:
Creating One-time Report (Zero Footprint)
DSET enables you to generate configuration report without permanently installing DSET. This is also known as "Zero
Footprint" report collection. After the report is generated and saved on the system, all files used to create the report are
removed from the system.
Using GUI:
To run DSET and create one-time report:
1. Run the "Dell_DSET_3. 3 .0.x.exe" file.
The Welcome to the Dell System E-Support Tool (3.3) Installation Wizard window is displayed.
NOTE : You must start the DSET application as a local or domain administrator.
2. Click Next to proceed through license and readme information until the Installation Type window appears.
3. Select Create Local Diagnostic Report and click Next .
4. The Report Settings window is displayed with the following options:
 Report Name or Full Path to Save the Report : Enter only the filename or the complete path with the
filename to save the generated report. If you mention only the filename, the report is saved to the user‟s
Desktop in Windows.
 Select the option " Enable report Filtering " to filter data from the report. For more information, refer to the
User's Guide.
 Select the option " Automatically Upload the Report to Dell " to upload the report to the Dell Technical
Support when requested.
5. Click Next to display the Report Settings to Skip Specific Information window.
6. Clear the options for which information is not required to be collected in the report. The options are:
o Hardware Information
o Storage Information
o Software Information
