Conguring email notications
By default, SupportAssist is congured to send an email notication when a support case is created automatically. SupportAssist can
also send email notications about maintenance mode, device status, and network connectivity status, if the SMTP server (email
server) settings are congured. You can congure the email notication settings based on your preference. For example, you can:
Disable the case creation email notication and/or select the preferred language for email notications. See Conguring email
notication settings.
Congure SupportAssist to send email notications through the SMTP server (email server) utilized by your company. See
Conguring SMTP server settings.
NOTE: For information about the dierent types of SupportAssist email notications, see Types of email notications.
Conguring email notication settings
You can enable or disable automatic email notications from SupportAssist and also select the preferred language for email
notications.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you are logged in to SupportAssist with elevated or administrative privileges. See SupportAssist user groups and
Granting elevated or administrative privileges to users.
Steps
1. Click the Settings tab.
The System Logs page is displayed.
2. Click Preferences.
The Preferences page is displayed.
3. To receive email notications when a new support case is opened, in Email Settings, select Receive email notication when a
new support case is opened.
NOTE: Disabling support case email notications also disables the automatic email notications that are sent if an
issue occurs while:
Creating a support case
Collecting the system information from a device
Sending the system information from a device to Dell
4. To set the language in which you want to receive email notications, from the Preferred Email Language list, select a language.
NOTE: The Preferred Email Language is enabled only when the Receive email notication when a new support case
is opened option is selected.
5. Click Apply.
