NOTE: By default, automatic update is enabled. If you disable automatic update, you must manually download and install
the latest updates from Dell.com/SupportAssistGroup.
Enabling automatic updates
Enabling automatic updates ensures that SupportAssist is automatically updated whenever updates are available.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you are logged in to SupportAssist with elevated or administrative privileges. See SupportAssist user groups and
Granting elevated or administrative privileges to users.
Steps
1. Click the Settings tab.
The System Logs page is displayed.
2. Click Preferences.
The Preferences page is displayed.
3. In Automated Tasks, select Accept and install updates.
4. Click Apply.

Deleting a device
Prerequisites
Ensure that you are logged in to SupportAssist with elevated or administrative privileges. See SupportAssist user groups and

About this task
You can delete a device from SupportAssist, if you do not want to monitor a device or for other reasons.
NOTE: Deleting a device only removes the device from the SupportAssist user interface; it does not aect the
functionality of the device.
Steps
1. Click Devices.
The Devices Inventory page is displayed.
2. Select the device that you want to delete.
3. Click Delete.
