iDRAC is now configured to forward alerts to the server where SupportAssist Enterprise is installed.

Manually configuring the alert destination of a chassis
by using the web interface
Prerequisites
You must be logged in to the CMC web interface with administrator privileges.
Steps
1. In the system tree, go to Chassis Overview, and then click Alerts > Chassis Events.
The Chassis Events page is displayed.
2. Under Chassis Event Filters Configuration section, select Enable Chassis Event Alerts option to enable alert
generation.
3. Under the Chassis Event List section, select the Enable Alert option on the column header to generate alerts for all
events.
4. In the system tree, go to Chassis Overview, and then click Alerts > Trap Settings.
The Chassis Event Alert Destinations page is displayed.
5. Perform the following:
In the Destination field, enter the IP address of the server where SupportAssist Enterprise is installed.
In the Community String field, enter a valid community string to which the server where SupportAssist Enterprise is
installed belongs.
NOTE:
CMC uses a default SNMP community string as public. To ensure higher security, it is recommended to
change the default community string and set a value which is not blank.
Under Enabled, select the check box corresponding to the IP address of the server where SupportAssist Enterprise is
installed.
6. Click Apply to save the settings.
7. To test whether the destination IP address is receiving the SNMP traps, click Send in the Test SNMP Trap column.
The IP alert destinations are configured.
Manually configuring the alert destination of a
networking device

and model. For information on configuring the alert of a specific networking device model, see the networking device
documentation.
Steps
1. Log in to the networking device by using a terminal emulator such as PuTTY.
The terminal window is displayed.
2. Type configure and press Enter.
3. Type snmp-server host <IP address of the server where SupportAssist Enterprise is
installed> traps version 1.
4. To verify if the alert destination is configured successfully, type show running-config snmp and press Enter.
The list of alert destinations that are configured on the device is displayed.
