Display Assembly

Removing the Display Assembly

1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.

2. Remove the center control cover (see Removing the Center Control Cover).

3. Remove the base cover (see Removing the Base Cover).

4. Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard).

5. Remove the palm rest (see Removing the Palm Rest).

6. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).

7. Remove the two screws from the computer base.

8. Make note of the routing guides and remove the antenna cables.

9. Remove the screw that secures the display cable and disconnect the cable from the system board connector.

10. Disconnect the camera cable (optional) and the power button cable.
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions that shipped with your computer.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as a connector on the back of the computer).
NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the
computer.
