Removing the Speakers
Replacing the Speakers
Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer. For additional safety best practices information, see the

Removing the Speakers

1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.

2. Remove the battery (see Removing the Battery).

3. Remove the power button panel (see Removing the Power Button Panel).

4. Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard).

5. Remove the palm rest (see Removing the Palm Rest).

6. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).

7. Remove one screw from the left speaker and two screws from the right speaker.

8. Disconnect the speaker cable from the USB/audio board connector.

9. Make a note of the speaker cable routing and remove the speakers from the computer base.
Replacing the Speakers

1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.

2. Place the speakers in the computer base.

CAUTION: Onlyacertifiedservicetechnicianshouldperformrepairsonyourcomputer.DamageduetoservicingthatisnotauthorizedbyDell™
is not covered by your warranty.
CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal
surface.
CAUTION: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see Removing the Battery) before working inside the
computer.
