Parallel Port
A parallel port is a parallel communication physical interface through which
information transfers in or out 8 bits of data (1 byte) at a time. These 8 bits
are transmitted parallel to each other, as opposed to the same eight bits being
transmitted serially (all in a single row) through a serial port. A parallel port is
also known as a printer port or Centronics port and is commonly used to
connect to a printer.
